Students surprise beloved Garden City High School custodian with new work boots for Christmas

Brian Junk is a custodial supervisor at the school

GARDEN CITY, Mich. – A group of students at Garden City High School pitched in to purchase a Christmas present for a beloved custodian at the school.

"You always go above and beyond for us," one of the students said as they gave Brian Junk a new pair of work boots.

Junk, a custodial supervisor, showed the students his old, worn shoes after he opened the gift and said he really needed a new pair.

Several videos posted on Facebook showed the exchange, as students Andrew Cortes, Summer Dyer, Lexi Horvath and Kenna Hermanson thanked Junk for always being happy and positive while presenting him with the boots that a group of students helped buy.

"So happy we were able to do this for one of the sweetest people I know, the janitor at our school, Brian! He’s always putting a smile on everyone’s faces during school," Hermanson posted with the video. "Thank you for everything you do and [for] making the school day more enjoyable for everyone."

See Hermanson's video of Junk getting the new boots below.
