The former home of boxing legend Joe Louis is up for sale in Detroit's historic Boston Edison District.

Known as the "Brown Bomber," Joe Louis held the world heavyweight championship from 1937 to 1949.

In 1926, his family moved to Detroit from Alabama, where Joe's brother worked for Ford. Louis eventually worked for a time at the River Rouge plant.

The home was listed this week for $280,000.

The home was built in 1916, and features 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and 2,433 Sq. Ft.

The lot size is 5,227 Sq. Ft.
