Hollywood has handed out the hardware, and as fans debate who should have one in major categories, there’s something else that always has people talking - the fashion!
Style Editor Jon Jordan and AJ Williams, the Managing Editor and former Style Editor of the Michigan Chronicle, sat down with host Tati Amare to discuss the hits and misses of the night.
Carey Mulligan won the “Best Dressed Actress” award in Jon Jordan’s book. She kept a classic princess silhouette in a gold sequin dress with just a bit of midriff showing to modernize the cut.
Andra Day was AJ’s pick for the top spot. As she put it, Day was sexy yet classy. She too sported a gold dress, and her hair was worn naturally, piled on top of her head with glowing make-up. The 2 million dollars worth of Tiffany jewelry she was dripping in didn’t hurt either.
For the men, Jon named Daniel Kaluuya as best dressed with his double-breasted all-black suit and Cartier diamond necklace.
Regina King had our guests split. AJ loved her dramatic winged sleeve look, whereas Jon found the sleeves distracting and too large.
