How to prep for pet-friendly events

Michigan Humane gives suggestions on how to prepare your furry friends for summertime fun

It’s party and festival season, and many events welcome pets. There are some things you can do before you leave to ensure that you and your pet have a good time. Devan Bianco from Michigan Humane returned to “Live in the D” with some great advice and an adorable new pet in need of a home.

According to Bianco, “pet-friendly” events generally refer to dogs, and she advises pet owners to keep the following things in mind:

  • Begin small and test their reaction in a smaller environment such as at an outdoor cafe.
  • Make sure they have an ID tag on their collar and bring pick-up bags, a collapsible water dish, and water.
  • When your pet is showing signs of being tired, take a break or go home.

The pet of the week is Mable, a two-month-old kitten. She is a sweet and active girl who enjoys pets and attention. A good match for her would be a home where she can play, as well as someone who can keep up with her.

The Mike Morse Law Firm will pay the standard adoption fees for whoever adopts today’s pet.
