You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream!
As we near the end of National Ice Cream Month, we wanted to shed light on a local ice cream truck, but it’s not just any ice cream truck.
Donyell Anderson, owner of Here’s The Scoop, spoke on “Live in the D” to talk about what makes her ice cream truck so unique.
Anderson says she has always desired to eat high-quality ice cream since she was a child. When she first started making ice cream, she was looking for a place where people could try it, so she set up shop at a kiosk in the New Center One Building and got a lot of positive responses from people. Due to the pandemic, she had to take her ice cream on the streets and decided to purchase a truck.
According to Anderson, this isn’t just any ice cream truck; it’s a mobile ice cream store. She also says she travels anywhere there is a need for ice cream, such as events and parties.
Aside from the fact that most of the ice creams are gluten- and lactose-free, the owner says that her ice cream is unique because of its high quality, flavor, and natural ingredients. There are over 30 unique flavors to choose from, such as peach, superman, strawberry cheesecake, birthday cake, and a variety of sorbets.
Other menu offerings include banana pudding, pound cake, cheesecake, brownies, and more.
