What’s better than tacos and margaritas?

Forget Taco Tuesday, this is Taco Friday

Who is making the best tacos in the D? We will find out this weekend at the Taco Showdown at Eastern Market.

Joining host Tati Amare on today’s episode of “Live In The D” was Eddie Vargas from La Palapa, and Jaclyn Slater, Managing Partner with Pequeno Cantina, to talk about what to expect at the event.

Eddie said there will be more than 12 different taquerias and restaurants that will be competing for the best taco and the best margarita. People will have the chance to vote for the best and watch the winners get crowned.

While Jaclyn prepared a street taco for Tati to taste on air, she said Pequeno Cantina is an authentic and neighborhood driven restaurant that everyone will love. They serve Mexican street food and have a tequila bar to welcome guests.

There will also be a margarita competition that will work the same as the taco competition. Eddie says there will be a wide variety of the popular mixed drink. The particular margarita Eddie made for Tati on the show is one that is most requested at La Palapa.

First he poured a slash of lime juice over ice, and next he added a mixture of soda water and aqua Fresca. Then, he poured a good amount of mango puree, and lastly he added a little Thyme. Eddie said you can either stir or shake together with ice.
