Local and international talent will be bringing the jazz scene to life in downtown Detroit this Labor Day weekend at the 43rd Detroit Jazz Festival presented by Rocket Mortgage.
Dianne Reeves joined Tati Amare on “Live in the D” to discuss her upcoming performance at the Detroit Jazz Festival.
Reeves is recognized for being a five-time Grammy Award winner and receiving the highest jazz honor, the National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters Award.
Reeves will be performing at the festival this year with Artist in Residence Chucho Valdes. The two musicians have been working together on and off for the past two years. Reeves said he is an incredible musician who she loves working with, especially in an environment like the Detroit Jazz Festival.
Reeves will be performing her own set as well as performing with Valdes. She will be performing live this Sunday and Monday.
