You can enjoy some delicious cuisine from local signature chefs and sip on wine while supporting a great cause. It’s all part of March of Dimes’ Signature Chefs Feeding Motherhood event on Tuesday, Sep. 20th.
The event is a fundraiser that has a “twist of flavor” and brings together guests and some of the best chefs in Detroit to help mothers and babies, said Sharon Gesse, an Executive Leadership Team member with the March Of Dimes organization.
Various chefs will be participating in the event, including Chef Hamissi Mamba who is the co-founder of the award-winning restaurant Boabab Fare, which serves East African cuisine. Chef Mamba says they will be offering Chapati rolled with beans at the event. Other participating chefs include Chef Sara from Marrow, Chef Michael from Slows Bar BQ, Chef Steve from Steve & Rocky’s, among others.
Local 4′s Karen Drew will be the Emcee at March of Dimes’ Signature Chefs Feeding Motherhood event, and Local 4 Style Editor Jon Jordan will be participating in an auction at the event by offering to be a style consultant. Guests will also be able to place bids on items like a trip to Traverse City, tickets to see the Red Wings, a Shinola watch, and more.
March of Dimes’ Signature Chefs Feeding Motherhood event will be held on Tuesday, Sep. 20th at Shed 5 at Eastern Market in Detroit. Tickets can be purchased on March of Dimes’ website.
