You’re invited to this homecoming celebration in the D

University of Detroit Mercy welcomes everyone to join the fun

It’s homecoming season, and one big celebration in Detroit is inviting everyone to take part.

The University of Detroit Mercy has a lineup of family-friendly events kicking off this weekend. Students, alumni and the entire community are welcome to join in on the fun.

Hoop Night in the D helps to get the celebration underway on Friday, Sep. 30th. It’s a chance to get a first look at the Titans basketball team. When Hoop Night in the D wraps up, it’s time for tailgating.

“There will be fire pits, S’mores, music, food trucks and a whole lot of fun,” said Alumni Relations Director Peggy Pattison.

The festivities continue Saturday, Oct. 1st with a bike ride through historic neighborhoods around McNichols campus. All ages are welcome to take part in the Tour de Titan Bike Ride from 10 a.m. to noon. It will be followed by a Fall Festival and Old-Fashioned BBQ from noon to 4 p.m. at Sacred Heart Square. Another highlight of the weekend will be the women’s soccer game. The Titans will play Green Bay at Titan Field at 4 p.m.
