Style and trends from the runway to retail

Local 4 Style Editor Jon Jordan shares how fashion can be versatile

Do you want to be trendy but don’t have the budget? Lucky for you, you don’t have to buy high end brands to look fashionable. Jon Jordan, Local 4 Style Editor, joined Tati Amare on “Live in the D” to show how to get runway style at retail.

According to Jordan, it is important to look for durability when purchasing a new clothing item.

“It’s all about looking at what you have and thinking about it in the broadest way possible and that’s the best way to buy a trend,” said Jordan.

From workwear to casual to dressy, items in your closet can do it all, said Jordan.

“Tina is showcasing a look that you may not necessarily associate with fall and winter, but this is a fall/winter, very versatile garment,” said Jordan. “It’s a cape, it’s a jacket, it’s a scarf, it’s whatever you want it to be.”

According to Jordan, the double-breasted suit is also a versatile item.

“If you’re going to buy a suit and even if you don’t buy a suit, I think that a double-breasted suit makes sense in your closet because it’s not just a suit,” said Jordan. “You can break it up, we’ve reinterpreted this in many ways. It can be casual, it can be dressy, it can be outerwear.”
