Tyrese will take the stage in Detroit this weekend

Singer, actor performs Sunday, Nov. 13

He’s an actor and singer who has sold millions of records, he’s been on the big screen in movies like “Baby Boy” and “The Fast and Furious” franchise, and now Tyrese Gibson is set to show off his singing skills in Detroit.

Tyrese has been touring and performing music for years, but he’s doing things a little differently these days. While talking with “Live In The D” host Tati Amare, Tyrese explained that although he enjoys performing in arenas and at big venues, he’s found an appreciation for having a more intimate atmosphere with a smaller crowd. His upcoming concert in Detroit is titled “An Intimate Evening with Tyrese”. The show will be held at the Sound Board at MotorCity Casino on Sunday, November 13.

Tyrese said he is always inspired when he’s on stage in Detroit. “I am literally standing on the shoulders of Motown, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, and Anita Baker who is like a mother figure in my life,” he said.

The singer is currently working on a new album called “Beautiful Pain.” The 43-year-old said it’s about his divorce and what he’s gone through on a personal front.

Aside from performing music, Tyrese is also still acting. He stars in a new movie called “The System”. In the movie, his character goes undercover in a prison to expose an illegal fighting ring. Fellow actors Terrence Howard and Jeremy Piven are also in the film, which is currently in theaters.
