Health and Nutrition Expert Jody Trierweiler demonstrates how to juice your own ginger shot at home

Live in the D – It’s all about the shots! Cold and Flu season may be coming to a close, but it is still important to put your health first. One of the ways you can do this is by taking juice shots, according to health and nutrition expert Jody Trierweiler. You may find them at your local juice bar, but Trierweiler showed “Live In The D” host Tati Amare and guest-host Braylon Edwards how they can make them from scratch in their own kitchen.

Trierweiler explained that when it comes to juice shots “it’s all about the vegetables”, and when adding in fruit, it’s usually a citrus like lemon. Trierweiler also said that when she looks for a juice shot it has to have “that power packed nutrient punch,” which differs from a juice that has been diluted.

Today’s focus was on the ginger shot. Trierweiler told both Amare and Edwards that ginger contains 100-400 compounds that benefit your body. Ginger also has the power to kill bacteria and viruses. When it comes to juicing ginger, don’t waste time peeling the skin, the juicer will take it out for you.
