How would you like to go to one of the premiere events in Detroit, and at the same time support a local university and their students?
Thanks to a special partnership, golf fans can help raise money for University of Detroit Mercy’s scholarship program when they cheer on their favorite golfers at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
There are three different opportunities for fans to see the tournament and help with the scholarship program, explained Peggy Pattison, who is Detroit Mercy’s director for alumni relations.
The first is with general admission tickets that get fans inside the course and access to of all of the things offered. The second opportunity is for fans to enjoy the tournament from a suite with food and beverages provided all day. The third option is the Honorary Observer experience, which is new this year. Two people can follow one pairing of the golfers inside the ropes throughout their entire round for one day, Pattison said.
The partnership between Detroit Mercy and the Rocket Mortgage Classic has raised around $45,000 for students scholarships, said Detroit Mercy’s executive director of development, Dennis Carlesso.
The Rocket Mortgage Classic will be held June 29 through July 2 at the Detroit Golf Club. Watch the video above or click here for more information.
