From Tati Amare – The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear is back and the weekend is back with all kinds of fun things you can do downtown. Don’t think of this as just a race. This is an event experience in Detroit. Organizers have even made many of the programming free, so you can enjoy all kinds of fun at no expense. Today, Live In The D went track side to showcase everything happening at the Grand Prix. We got details on this year’s race. We took viewers to the fan zones in Hart Plaza. We found some great places to eat. We also got to speak to one of the racers who has won in Detroit before, and we got a sneak peek of a special gift this year’s winner is going to receive. If you haven’t made plans to visit downtown this weekend to see how the Grand Prix has changed this, you may want to reconsider. Our city is a entirely new experience right now.

But, what’s behind the door is so much more. This marks a speak easy in the D aptly named Willow. It has a vibe that will have you feeling like you’ve stepped back in time, but the modern influences let you know this is the hip place to be. April Morton had a chance to go inside and give people a taste of what they can expect.
