Here’s how to treat your pets for Halloween

Don’t go overboard with the costumes

Halloween means it’s time to dress up and that might include putting a costume on the pets. However, before you dress up a cat like Cat Woman or put your Dachshund in a hot dog outfit, there are a few things you will want to consider.

When it comes to dressing up a dog or cat, it’s best to start small, explained Ann Chrisman with Michigan Humane. She said that bandanas are a great start. Next, you could try a shirt, Chrisman added. She expressed that comfort is key, and that pet parents should watch their furry friends for exhibiting signs of stress, such as stiffening, tucking their tail, or licking their lips. If your pet is stressed, then it’s important to remove their costume.

Meanwhile, if you’re searching for a furry friend to add to the family, Lizzy could be just who you are looking for. She is an adorable and fluffy 9-week-old puppy who is in need of her forever home. Watch the video above to learn more about Lizzy.
