After 10 years, ‘Friendship Factory’ still delivering smiles and sparkles

Metro Detroit business started with simple idea

What started out as an idea while a Metro Detroit grandpa was babysitting has turned into a thriving business.

Now celebrating its 10-year anniversary, the “Friendship Factory” is still putting smiles on little girls’ faces, one “bracelet,” at a time.

Owner and founder Julie Crorey knew the importance of girls having a fun space.

“I felt very passionately we needed to create a space for girls that’s all about promoting friendship,” Crorey said.

The mother of two girls said she also knows that the tween years for girls can be difficult, and her answer to this was the Friendship Factory. She said the idea came about when her father created a toy called the “Friendship Bracelet Maker.”

While babysitting her daughters, Crorey said, her dad came up with the idea, and now, 10 years after the space opened its doors, the business is thriving.

The Friendship Factory has three Metro Detroit locations: Rochester Hills, West Bloomfield, and Clinton Township.
