Detroit is full of history, from the Model T to the Motown Museum. Now, one historic location is inviting you to be their “friend” this season, and it’s something that will last all year long.
It’s happening at The Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores. Tommy Karr, director of communications, appeared on “Live In The D” to share what this new program is all about and the access it gives “friends”.
“It allows us to build a different kind of relationship with our audiences and guests who come out here to experience things,” Karr said. “I think the change (from membership) to friendship, and the additional friendship benefits, and special friendship events next year will make every very happy.
Karr also explained some of the perks that come in the form of discounts on guided tours, at the gift shop, and in their restaurant on the grounds, The Continental.
Right now, “Home For The Holidays At Ford House” is happening. This event runs through Dec. 30 and is a self-guided walking tour of the grounds at night. Holiday lights can be seen all over the grounds, and guests can go inside the house to see how it was decorated by Eleanor Ford herself.
