This sled ride with dogs sleighs

The slopes are open for skiing and so much more

It may not look much like winter outside in the Detroit area, but the slopes are open up north.

Winter has arrived and Treetops resort is ready to show you a good time in the snow. Obviously, the one sport people think of in the winter is skiing, but for those who don’t ski, it can be intimidating.

Brad Jacobsen, Ski Director at Treetops, appeared on “Live In The D” and shared the program they’re running to help people get on the slopes. It’s called “Cool School”.

“It’s a mid-week all-inclusive package,” said Jacobsen. “It’s an all access pass to our to all of our winter recreation opportunities. So, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snowboarding, downhill skiing, as well as a terrain based learning ski lesson.” These are beginner, entry-level lessons on how to ski. You also get an overnight stay, breakfast voucher and a dinner voucher.

In addition to the “Cool School” they also offer dog sled rides at Treetops which is an experience many people love to have. It’s a scenic tour through some of the uncharted territory of the property and you’re pulled by several trained sled dogs.
