Toast to the holidays with wine

Canned wine can be a stocking stuffer

It’s no secret that wine is a popular gift for the holidays, but how do you know you’re giving a bottle that someone will want to pour?

When gifting wine, you’ll want to think about the time of day it will be consumed and if people will be pairing it with food, explained Emily Dabish Yakind, the founder of SolSummit, which is a wine company based in Ann Arbor. She suggests having lower alcohol wines during the day. If the wine isn’t being paired with food, then Dabish Yakind recommends getting a wine that isn’t so dry. Another suggestion she shared is to look for biodynamic or natural wines.

Lighter body reds like a pinot noir or gamay can be nice options, expressed Dabish Yakind. She also said that champagne can always be a fun choice. The gift of wine doesn’t just have to come in a bottle. SolSummit has canned wine, which Dabish Yakind suggested as a fun stocking stuffer gift idea. SolSummit has three different canned wine options, which are a red wine blend, sauvignon blanc, and a rosé.
