Saturday, January 13th will mark National Gluten-Free Day which is a day dedicated to people who cannot have gluten because of health issues or just choose to live a gluten-free lifestyle.
Local mom Brianna Willis has embraced the challenge of creating treats that people who are gluten-free can enjoy. Willis is the woman behind Sweet Bree’s, which is a gluten-free bakeshop in Clinton Township. Willis explained that she was inspired to start her business after one of her daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Willis explained that she felt she needed to make something that tasted and looked good so that her daughter didn’t feel left out.
Sweet Bree’s can make everything from a gluten-free mocha salted caramel cake to a champagne cake with raspberry filling, lemon curd cupcakes, and beyond. Willis mentioned that she also does custom cake orders and can provide desserts that are dairy-free.
