Record players, radios, VCRs, remember the old electronics you grew up with? Sure, you can by something new that is more up to date with today’s technology, but as the saying goes, “The don’t make it like they used to.” That’s why vintage is so popular right now, especially when it comes to old radio styles, and vintage vinyl. You can all of it, and more, at the Vintage Electronics Expo this weekend in Southfield.
“We’ve had this show for over 20 years. We started doing shows around 1985. At that time we were the Michigan Antique Radio Club, and we’ve morphed our show into the Vintage Electronics Expo,” said Mark Oppat, a spokesperson with the expo.
Oppat shared many vintage items that people will find at the expo and he says they all do, or can be restored to work. He even turned on an antique radio and “Live In The D” host Tati Amare said, “It just sounds different.”
The expo is at the Southfield Pavilion, on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
