Want to learn how to ski? This Michigan resort offering unique program

Program is for beginners and for those who simply need a refresher

We might be almost to February, but there is still plenty of winter left. That means there is still plenty of time for skiing, and one spot up north wants to either introduce skiing to beginners, or reintroduce the sport to those who haven’t done it in a while.

Brad Jacobsen, the director of ski operations at Treetops Resort in Gaylord, spoke with “Live in the D,” host Tati Amare, about a one-of-a-kind activity they offer.

“We’re the only resort in Michigan that offers what’s called ‘TBL’ or Terrain Based Learning,” Jacobsen said. He said this is for those who are trying skiing for the first time, or someone who needs a refresher. The instructors break down step-by-step the process of learning to ski.

The resort also offers snowshoeing, tubing, skiing, and all other forms of winter fun Michigan has to offer.

“Come on out and enjoy it and embrace it,” he said. The resort has packages available that includes, meals, activities, lodging, and more. They also have a spa for those looking for a more relaxing option.
