Mild weather won’t keep away the cool events this weekend

There’s a lot going on in Metro Detroit during Super Bowl weekend

Although it’s the beginning of February, the temps outside lately have been on the mild side, but that’s not stopping the winter, cool events from happening this weekend in the Detroit area.

First up, the Cold Rush is happening in Warren. This annual event features, ice skating, glow skating, ice sculptures, a petting farm, and more. It happens Saturday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 1 City Square in Warren.

The winter fun continues in Marine City where the festival of Fire, Ice & Spice is happening. The event will feature ice carvings, winter warm beverages, pop-up shops, ice skating performances, entertainment, a chili competition, and more. The festival happens Saturday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Heritage Park in Marine City.

Next up, love is in the air, and the smell of roses. Parkers Alley in Downtown Detroit is adorned with beautiful bouquets of pink and red roses just in time for Valentine’s Day. There will also be giveaways by local businesses in the alley. The flower display goes through February 28.
