The Konnection is a mentoring program

A special connection is being made at two Detroit schools to help students look ahead to a successful future. It’s thanks to a mentoring program called The Konnection.

Sharnese Marshall founded The Konnection in hopes of connecting with students and empowering them by understanding their strengths and struggles. The goal is to help the students improve their attendance and performance in school. The Konnection offers mentoring, after-school programs, career exploration, and more.

The Konnection is currently operating at Durfee Elementary Middle School and Central High. Marshall said she hopes to expand the programs throughout Detroit and then beyond.

The community can help support The Konnection’s mission through funding, volunteer work, or through business partnerships, explained Marshall.
