Tips on keeping your heart healthy this Valentine’s Day

Show love to your Valentine as well as yourself

Valentine’s Day is synonymous with flowers, candy, and cards, and as we celebrate the love we have in our hearts for others, lets not forget to show some love to ourselves, in a healthy way. Fitness, and nutrition expert Jody Trierweiler stopped by “Live in the D” to chat about what we should be thinking about when it comes to our physical hearts.

“Exercise is amazing for your heart, love is amazing for your heart, but you know what’s really amazing for your heart, laughter,” Trierweiler said. She said when you start laughing, it opens up your vessels because you start to produce endorphins, and anything that opens your blood vessels is good for your heart. Other quick tips she said to remember when it comes to keeping you heart healthy is, sleep, exercise, rest, and hugs.
