Laugh, play, read, and drink whiskey, all in Metro Detroit this weekend

Plenty to do for just about everyone around Detroit

Whether you like ice carving, hanging out with friends, enjoying a good laugh, or a good book, you can do it all this weekend in and around Detroit.

In Clinton Township, Partridge Creek Mall is celebrating the season with the “Winterfest.” The event will feature ice carvers, face painters, hot cocoa, arts and crafts, fire and ice stilt walkers, a DJ, and more. The stores and restaurants will also have special offers throughout the day. The Fest happening Saturday Noon to 4 p.m..

If you’re looking for a good laugh, check out the stage play “Lend Me A Tenor” at the Farmington Players Barn. The production, dubbed as a hilarious Broadway farce, is loaded with bizarre antics, mistaken identities, mystery, and clever comic reversals. “Lend Me A Tenor” runs now through February 24 at 32332 W. 12 Mile rd. Farmington Hills.

In honor of Black History Month, Detroit City Book is holding a huge literacy fair. The 8th annual “African American Family Book Expo and Read-In” will feature more than 30 authors of adult and children’s books from across the country. The event that aims to promote, preserve, and sustain literacy in Metro Detroit is happening Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Historic People Community Church, 8601 Woodward Avenue in Detroit.

This one is for the grown ups. They Royal Oak Whiskey Fest returns this weekend connecting whiskey lovers with some of the top brands. Get it neat, or mixed in a cocktail, and create memories with friends while enjoying a variety of samples. The fest happens Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 316 East, 11 Mile Road in Royal Oak
