The next time you see a Girl Scout vest, you might want to take a close look at the badges on it. Did you know that Girl Scouts can earn a badge for robotics?
Girl Scouts have the opportunity to learn about programming a robot. Along with having fun, it also teaches Girl Scouts important problem-solving skills.
Some local Girl Scout Troops are shining bright when it comes to robotics, including a Farmington Girl Scouts robotics team known as “The Gear Box Girls”.
The six-girl team is composed of fifth and six graders from Farmington STEAM Academy and St. Fabian. After placing second in the state finals in 2023, the team is gearing up for a national competition that will be held May 31 to June 2 in Long Beach, California.
Another local Girl Scouts robotics team is known as the “Whoppers.” Watch the video above to see them showcase their skills in robotics.
