Hazel’s offers gluten-free menu items

A popular restaurant in Metro Detroit, known seasonally for their lobster, also offers gluten free menu items.

Chef and co-owner Emmele Herrold appeared on Live In The D to talk about the restaurant and menu items.

For Chef Herrold, she was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and had to make this major change in her life. With this major change, and her job as a chef, she has found that if there is a way to keep things gluten-free to the public, when possible, you should do it.

At Hazel’s there is no hidden gluten in any of the menu items, and they use tamari instead of soy sauce, along with having a dedicated gluten-free fryer to ensure there is no hidden gluten.

Hazel’s is located in Birmingham and you can experience a variety of gluten-free items from seafood, to entrees, and desserts.
