Celebrate Greek American Heritage Month with this local, women owned business

It’s a popular salad dressing created by accident

March is Greek American Heritage Month and you can celebrate with Papa’s Kitchen, a local and women owned business. To talk about carrying the legacy on of her father was Christina Kalfaian who appeared on “Live In The D”.

You may have heard of the Pink Greek Dressing that you can get all across Metro Detroit. Kalfaian said her dad moved from Greece at the age of 12, opened his first restaurant at the age of 17, and then later opened a restaurant with her mom in the 70s. At this restaurant, he began creating a dressing and put beet juice in it, and from there he kept stirring, adding more and more juice with the dressing and created the Pink Greek Dressing.

“Often copied but never duplicated,” says Kalfaian, as the dressing became a huge hit within Metro Detroit.

She also thought to make more dressings in honor of his legacy and created other signature dressings like Maple Harvest, Creamy Dill, and Fresh Herb Vinaigrette. All of these are gluten free with the exception of the dill.
