You can feel it in the air, but spring isn’t here, yet.
We know it won’t be long until we are all outside, and for many people that means hitting the golf course. Before you can grab your friends and jump in the cart to play 18, the Michigan Golf Show is happening at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi to get you prepared for the season. Show manager McKenzie Bowman appeared on “Live In The D” to let everyone know what to expect.
One of the big draws this year is a 50-yard hole that’s been set up inside the building, where people have a chance to make a hole-in-one. “It’s a $25,000 hole-in-one challenge sponsored by Garland Michigan,” said Bowman. “The proceeds from this are going to First Tee of Northern Michigan, which is a program which supports life skills and leadership for children who also learn how to golf.”
In addition to that challenge, Bowman said there will also be a putting competition, where the winner could receive $10,000. Proceeds from that competition will go to the Wounded and Returning Warriors Project.
With the competitions, there is also a big event planned for International Women’s Day at the Michigan Golf Show. There is a fashion show planned along with drink specials, $5 off for ladies admission, and much more.
Bowman also shared about the vendors on hand, and the drinks that people can try as they walk the grounds at the show.
