All week on “Live In The D” Rob Stone from “The Rob + Holly Show” on 99.5 WYCD has been the guest-host with Tati Amare. Rob is not only a radio host, but he’s also a country artist as well. This weekend he will be at District 142 in Wyandotte to open for George Birge. Today on the show, Stone shared some of Birge’s music that was recorded here in Detroit.
Stone says Birge is an artist who almost quit the business after working in it for years. He says Birge was ready to try something new when a meeting with Clay Walker helped turn things around. “The old guy in country music said, ‘George, you got to put your music on TikTok,’” said Stone. Birge ending up taking the advice and his song “Mind On You” hit number one.
