Shed some layers before spring arrives

It’s time to say goodbye to the dead of winter

The dead of winter has come and gone, but your dead skin from winter may still be hanging on. That’s why now is a good time to shed some layers and spring into spring with refreshed and revitalized skin. Local 4 Style Editor Jon Jordan appeared on “Live In The D” to share how exfoliating is the right thing to do to get ready for a change of season.

“Exfoliation removes all the dead skin cells. It stimulates cell growth,” said Jordan. He said look for products that contain things like Lactic Acid, Citric Acid, Salicylic Acid, or Alpha Hydroxy Acid. If you’re trying to shed dead skin, these are the products that can help according to Jordan.

There are also several tools that will aid in the process as well. Jordan showed off an exfoliating glove, brushes with pumice stones, and even a cheese grater for your skin.

If you’re looking for something more natural you can even create your own exfoliating scrub. To see what ingredients Jordan suggests you use, click the video player above.
