With the mild weather this week, we’ve gotten a little taste of spring. Although it cools down this weekend, that spring fever is still in the air, and there are a few events gearing up to celebrate the coming season.
First up, its the Novi Boat Show, and although they are the highlights, the show offers much more than boats. There will be shopping for lake supplies, food, drinks, entertainment, kids activities, and more. The Boat Show runs Thursday through Sunday at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.
This Saturday is National Quilting Day. In celebration of the day, the Charles H Wright Museum of African American History will host a beginners quilt making workshop. Participants will learn to make a 50 x 60 throw quilt, as well as learn the history of quilting and the technique. The class takes place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 315 E. Warren, Detroit.
The Warren Spring Carnival is happening this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature photos with the Easter Bunny, egg hunts, a petting farm, bounce houses, and more. It all happens at the Warren Community Center at 5460 Arden in Warren.
