Raise a glass to this women owned spirits brand

Plymouth woman goes from physician assistant to liquor CEO

As “Live In The D” continues to celebrate Women’s History Month, we would like to highlight a female-owned and operated spirits company founded in Dexter, just outside of Ann Arbor.

Founder and CEO of the Highline Spirits brand Christi Lower stopped by the show and spoke about how she went from being a Physician Assistant to a liquor owner. “I’ve been a spirit, whiskey enthusiast for over a decade,” Lower said.

She said she’s been very interested in the chemistry and science behind spirits, and how to blend and make them her own. She said whiskey is an American spirit and her goal is to teach people about it. So, they offer cocktail and whiskey history classes at their Dexter tasting room.

A second location will open soon in Plymouth. At both locations people can not only learn about the cocktails, they can indulge in one of their unique mixes.

Lower created a cool cocktail on the show, just in time for spring.
