‘SNL’ alum Tim Meadows using his talents for a great cause in Detroit

Actor will host a screening of the new ’Mean Girls’ this Saturday

He cracked jokes on “Saturday Night Live,” and was one of the longest running cast members.

You’ve seen him in movies like “Mean Girls,” and TV shows like “The Goldbergs.” Now Comedian, Actor, Writer, and Metro Detroit Native, Tim Meadows is helping the next generation of stars with a special event at the Emagine Theatre in Royal Oak. Meadows stopped by “Live in the D,” to chat about the event, and he revealed, he’s a fan of the show. “We’re fans of the show, that’s one reason why I wanted to do it, we’re members of the ‘Couch Club,’”

Meadows told host Tati Amare. He also said he lives downtown, and accepted an offer to visit the WDIV studios anytime!

This week, Meadows is taking a break from acting to host a screening of the new “Mean Girls, The Musical” movie on Saturday. The event will benefit the “Detroit Creativity Project,” an organization that teaches improvisation to public schools students. Meadow’s said, it’s a really important tools for youth to learn how to work with others, how to communicate better, and adds confidence. He said he’s a big fan of improv.
