Drew Barrymore shares why talk show is a ‘dream’ for her

Actor gets to act as herself on ‘Drew Barrymore Show’

Drew Barrymore joins us on “Live In The D” to dive into her talk show and what it means for her.

While she’s been an actress for many years, stepping into the role of a talk show host for the “Drew Barrymore Show” has been a big change. On her show, Barrymore gets to play herself -- which she says is “the best gift” so that she could be there for her daughters.

“This, to me, is such a dream fit for where I’m at right now in this chapter in my life,” Barrymore said.

The show incorporates many different people and things, from cooking to news.

“Why make a show that is one thing? ‘Cause we are not one thing,” Barrymore said.

When it comes to the chemistry between Barrymore and her co-host Ross Matthews, they always keep it real.

“We never rehearse everything. Everything is fresh. We didn’t want anything to be over-planned or canned,” Barrymore said.
