While the world of chef competitions can be intense, imagine the competition with just kids. That’s what MasterChef Junior is all about. MasterChef Junior Competitor, Lilo Tsai from Ann Arbor, appeared on “Live in The D” to talk about the competition.
Her spark for cooking comes from her family’s Japanese restaurant and Asian market where she has always loved to help out. “I want to prove to the world that I am one of the best chef’s,” she said.
She has worked with well known judges and mentors like Gordon Ramsey, Aarón Sánchez, and Daphne Oz, and for her, “It was really fun cooking in the world’s best kitchen and I love serving my food to all the judges,” said Tsai.
Being on TV with a time crunch and intense pressure can be challenging to balance. To prepare for this, Tsai said, “In my restaurant back home, you always have to make food, and I know you have to make it on time.”
