The buzzing behind celebrity culture

How far do celebrities go to stay in the spotlight?

There’s always big buzz about what’s happening is Hollywood, and for this week’s What’s The Buzz, the talk is all about celebrity culture. Lauren Crocker of “Blaine and Lauren” on 96.3 WDVD and comedian Mike Bonner appeared on “Live in The D” to talk about it.

When it comes to the controversy of Jennifer Lopez rebranding her upcoming tour, the topic came up of whether or not celebrities have to fight to stay in the spotlight. Crocker said, “I 100% think they have to fight and I think the ticket sales don’t help,” while Bonner said, “Ticket prices are reasonable for this tour to get likeable again.”

With celebrities being well-known all across the world, are they held to higher standards? “When you put yourself out there to be judged, you’re going to be judged,” Bonner said. “They’re still human so it’s still going to hurt,” Crocker said.

While being in the business also brings fame, many celebrities get addicted to the spotlight. “It’s addictive, being in this business and gratification after leaving the stage is an amazing high,” Bonner said.
