There are many sights and experiences that you can take you off from the usual paths to more the unusual right here in Michigan. There’s a book that can serve as a ‘comprehensive road map,’ and to talk about it was Amy Piper, the author of Secret Michigan A Guide to The Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure.
The book focuses on discovering difference places within certain areas. For Piper, she wanted to “Discover unknown things that maybe others don’t know about.” To get these different places, she Googled, asked on Facebook groups, “tell me your secrets,” and even went on tours.
One obscure place in Michigan includes shipwreck tours in Alpena that has glass bottom boats where you can see the shipwrecks below the water.
On the other hand, there are a few weird spots including one in Mount Clemens where the Anatomy of Death Museum is located, and in Lansing, where the Paranormal and Mortuary Science Museum is located.
