A vampire ballerina and hired hitman hit the screens this weekend

And a new friendship series on Tubi

For this week’s reel talk, there are new movies and tv shows to talk about, from an innocent looking vampire ballerina to a hired hitman, movie reviewer Greg Russell returns to “Live in The D” to talk about them.

‘Abigail’ is a horror-comedy like film, with a young lady who is into ballet and her father is “gangster” Russell says. The daughter gets kidnapped and Russell says “they got a little more than what they expected” because Abigail is a vampire. Russell had the opportunity to talk to Alisha Weir who stars as Abigail, she says “although it’s a horror film it really has a funny side to it.” Russell rates it a 4 out of 5 reels.

‘Dusk for a Hitman’ is about a hired hitman for the mob, when his family ends up in jeopardy. “It goes to show how I can do something to against somebody I don’t know, but now my family is in trouble, what do I do?” Russell says. This movie is also a true story that happened within the 1970s. Russell gives it a 3 out of 5 reels.

There is also a new series on Tubi called ‘Big Mood.’ This series is about two ladies that have been for friends for years, where one of them is bipolar and the other friend is always there to help her. “It really is a good story about friendship,” Russell says.
