Hear what you can expect from this artist’s new album

Ryan Lynch performs new single ‘Firelight’

For this week’s Music Monday, this artist just recently released a new album in March and he shared a single from that album. Ryan Lynch along with his band appeared on “Live In The D” to talk about his new music.

Lynch’s new album “Stages” is, “A collection of eight songs, kind of all about being in a transitory period of life with some experiences of loss, some grieving those losses, but also moving forward and what you can expect for your future,” he said.

Lynch kicked off his music career with piano lessons around the age of 6, then eventually made his way up to the guitar at 10. He started his first band at 12, and then started performing solo in coffee shops at 14. “It’s been apart of my life for my entire life,” he said.

His single “Firelight” is inspired by an Ethiopian folktale called “Fire on the Mountain.” The message is, “What are you willing to sacrifice for your future? What are you willing to suffer for your future,” Lynch said. He spoke to how he tries to incorporate those elements into the song.

You can catch an upcoming performance at the New Dodge Lounge on May 24th in Hamtramck.
