Zendaya and Bill Skarsgård are the big stars in two new movies out in theaters this weekend. One is all about the drama, and the other is all about action. Movie Reviewer Greg Russell appeared on “Live In The D” to let people know what to expect.
In “Challengers”, Zendaya plays Tashi, a professional tennis player turned coach. She coaches her husband who goes from being a mediocre tennis player to a world-famous Grand Slam champion. But, her past catches up to her when her husband has to face off against his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend. The tangled love triangle creates serious drama both on and off the court. “I’m hearing it’s very good, and very steamy,” said Russell.
Also in theaters this weekend is “Boy Kills World” starring Bill Skarsgård and Famke Janssen. In the movie, the title character “Boy” is played by Skarsgård who is on a mission to kill Hilda Van Der Koy played by Janssen. The Boy wants to get retribution for the death of his family which he blames on Hilda. “If you grew up playing games like Mortal Kombat, you’ll get this one,” said Russell. He gave the movie three out of five reels.
Russell also had a chance to speak with some of the cast from the show “The Big Door Prize” about their second season on Apple TV+. To see that interview, and his conversation with Famke Janssen, click the video player above.
