Movies about breakfast, stuntmen, and more hit theaters this weekend

Jerry Seinfeld, Melissa McCarthy, and Jim Gaffigan are bringing the funny

Three new movies with big stars are in theaters and streaming this weekend. Movie reviewer Greg Russell appeared on “Live In The D” to talk about “The Fall Guy”, “Unfrosted”, and “The Idea of You”.

First up, he talked about “The Fall Guy” starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. “It’s a great time. A lot of action. A lot of funny things going on,” said Russell. The movie surrounds Gosling’s character, who is a stuntman for a Hollywood superstar, and his ex-girlfriend played by Blunt. The two end up working on a movie together after their breakup and things take an interesting turn when Gosling’s character is tasked to find the star of the movie who goes missing. It turns into a wild ride of action, romance, and comedy. Russell gave the movie four out of five reels.

Next, Russell talked about the new movie “Unfrosted” which stars Jerry Seinfeld as an executive at Kellogg’s who is in a pastry race to beat Post and invent a new shelf sustaining breakfast pastry. The movie stars an ensemble of actors including Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan, Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer, Christian Slater, and many more. Russell spoke to Seinfeld about the movie who said he co-wrote it during the Covid pandemic. “The cereal world is a funny world. You have serious businessmen, talking about ridiculous things. So, that’s how it started,” said Seinfeld. Russel gave the movie four out of five reels as well.

Finally, Russell talked about the movie “The Idea of You” starring Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway. Hathaway plays a mom who takes her daughter to see a boy-band and she ends up meeting the biggest star from the group. The two form a love relationship, but the big topic about their love story is their age difference. Russell gave this movie 3 1/2 reels out of five.
