When you first think of makeup, men might not typically come to mind. However, there’s a new brand line that’s trying to change the narrative when it comes to the “new norm” for makeup.
NuNorm, a makeup brand designed specifically for men, was launched by founder Jeff Lau who says he was inspired by his son, Quincy. “Growing up he’s always been very expressive whether it’s wearing nail polish or borrowing his mom or sister’s products to cover up maybe some blemishes,” Lau said.
He took action after hearing Quincy’s frustrations with the products that were available. “Men do have different skin,” Lau explained. “We have oilier skin, we have bigger pores, we have facial hair,” he said.
NuNorm now offers men’s products like a quick cover concealer, a tinted hydrator, a brow pencil, a shine eraser, and a makeup brush.
“We’ve heard women say for years that makeup is kind of their armor,” Lau said. “When you look in the mirror you want to see the best version of yourself, and that little extra boost in confidence should not be gender specific.”
