Brunch will be a popular dining option this Mother’s Day weekend, but a new restaurant in downtown Pontiac is serving up this breakfast-lunch combo all the time. They are also fusing this menu concept with late night entertainment.
April Morton, Reporter with “Live in the D,” caught up with the owner of “Biscuits and Bourbon,” Denita Ramsey, who’s preparing for a big comedy show this weekend. “We have comedy every Friday and Saturday, and you also have dinner,” Ramsey said.
She said that dinner can consist of breakfast items as well, because they serve it all day. So, if you want their twist on chicken and waffles, called chicken and cakes, which are pancakes, you can get them at 10 a.m., or 10 p.m.
The restaurant is located inside the historic Flagstar Strand Theater, so many people stop by, and grab a bite before a show. The theater is just one historical aspect of the restaurant which also has décor made up of pieces from the shuttered Pontiac Central High School. Over the bar you’ll find the school’s old gymnasium score board.
