Here’s how you can help mom relax for Mother’s Day

Giving the gift of peace and quiet may be easier than you think

It’s no secret that one thing many moms say they want for Mother’s Day is peace, quiet and relaxation. But how do you actually give that to mom? It can be easier than you think.

Hand & Stone in Metro Detroit appeared on “Live in the D” to share some ways they can help mom with some quality me time.

“We know exactly how to take care of mom,” said Sumit Bansal, a spa owner with Hand & Stone. “We pamper them, and we have some special packages we have put together for moms for this weekend.”

One of their packages, called the Himalayan Retreat, incorporates Himalayan salt stones that are filled with 84 minerals.

“It helps detoxify and exfoliate the skin, and it’s my personal favorite,” said Melissa Koolwick, general manager of multiple Hand & Stone locations.

They also offer many different types of massages for clients, as well. Licensed massage therapist DaQuan Peoples was in studio and demonstrated some of the different massage techniques he uses with clients.

“The most important thing for us is to make sure we customize the massage to the client,” Bansal said.

If you don’t know what mom wants the most, Koolwick said a three-month gift card membership package might be an option. It would allow mom to go to Hand & Stone for three consecutive months and choose a massage or facial.

As part of the Mother’s Day packages, the spa is also offering a free facial with any package purchase.
