Milkshakes, burgers, sloppy joes and tots. This is just a taste of what a Rochester restaurant is offering, along with a side of history. Red Knapp’s has been around for more than 70 years, and current owner, Matt Kirschner, took over the business in 2020. He stopped by “Live in the D” for Takeout Tuesday, to chat about what keeps to restaurant going.
“It’s a community place. It’s really for the people of Rochester,” Kirschner said.
He said his goal is to keep that going and he does so with great customer service, and tasty timeless food.
He said for the 1st year he didn’t tell anyone he was the owner, because he just wanted to take in as much feedback as possible to provide the best service in return. He’s evolved the menu while keeping the classics like the Knapp’s Classic Burger and malts, in addition to milkshakes.
