Music will fill Hart Plaza in Detroit this weekend for Movement, and fans can hear a performance from one of the godfathers of techno himself, Kevin Saunderson.
Kevin Saunderson is one of the Belleville Three, which is the group that’s credited with creating the techno genre. While appearing on “Live In The D”, Saunderson talked about how they were inspired to be futurists and think about music differently.
“We just got deeper into the music and wanting to make the world dance as one,” Saunderson said. “The most important thing for me was to make music that I thought was energetic, that made people dance,” Saunderson explained. He said the Movement festival is a celebration of what they started.
Movement will run Saturday, May 25th through Monday, May 27th. Kevin Saunderson is set to perform with Idris Elba on Sunday.
