Ideas to help feed your crew for Memorial Day weekend

You can shop and save if you decide to bundle up

Memorial Day weekend of 2024 is almost here and it’s time to get summer started. That can typically mean road trips to different destinations and get-togethers around a grill.

So as you make you plans, Kroger wants you to know there are ways to save as you shop for your holiday weekend. Cam Barrett, Corporate Affairs Manager with Kroger, and Amy Luna, Customer Communications Manager with Kroger, stopped by “Live In The D” to explain.

Barrett said you can feed a family of 10 for just $4 a person thanks to bundles they are offering. “You got your staples. You got your burgers, your buns, your cheese, baked beans, chips, bagged salad, and the best part? It’s all under $50 dollars,” said Barrett.

When it comes to some of the hot items for Memorial Day weekend, Luna said grilling options are huge right now from steaks to sausages to locally produced hot dogs. She also said Kroger’s grab and go items that are premade are also something that customers love because it’s precooked, packaged, ready to eat, and, most importantly, convenient. “We want to make it as easy as possible for our customers,” said Luna.

Local 4 has also partnered up with Kroger in search of new summer recipes, and we want to hear from you. You can share a recipe in one of five different categories and if yours is picked as the best, you could win a $250 gift card to Kroger. Plus, there is a grand prize!
