Meet the family behind this 80-year-old Detroit company

Many people know about Wallside Windows, but do you know about the Blancks?

A family in Metro Detroit is celebrating a milestone and they have a way that you can celebrate with them. You may not know the Blanck family off-hand, but you definitely know their company, Wallside Windows.

This year the company celebrates 80 years in business, and father and son duo Stanford and Adam Blanck appeared on “Live In The D” to share their family story.

Stanford says it all started with his father Martin Blanck in the 40s. He says was an honorable person, an ultimate salesman, and a hard worker who would cultivate his own leads by going door-to-door.

“He saw an article in the New York Times about this company in New York that was extruding vinyl windows,” said Stanford. “He flew to New York, met with these people, and they had franchises all over in certain cities and we got into it.”

The company started in a small factory in Detroit with a couple of employees, and grew into what it is today, with a more than 70,000-square foot factory in Taylor that has more than 400 employees.

President Adam Blanck attributes the success to the employees.

“A joint effort, a team effort, that we’re in it together,” he said. “A lot of it is longevity because we have employees that have been here for decades and decades.”

As part of their 80-year celebration, Wallside Windows is offering 80-year interest free on new windows for your home. To learn more about that offer, click here.
